[spunge], November 30th, Southampton Uni Support
from: Farse & Spankboy
Spankboy were absolutely on fire tonight
(according to my friends, as I was backstage - how cool am I...). Playing all
the good uns', along with the fantastic new songs 'Set it Off' and 'Summer
Nights', off their new EP 'Rise On Up'. They received a great reception from the
crowd, and obviously had a lot of fans there.
Setlist: Set It Off
Perfect Day
Tongue Tied
Dusk Till Dawn
Judges Daughter
Burn one Down
Summer Nights
Like You
Next on were beautiful (phwaar)
Farse, also on Moon Ska Europe, playing their usual bland of , and the
crowd seemed to love every minute of it. Playing tracks from their album 'Boxing
Clever', a definite must for your CD collection. Headliners [spunge] really took the roof off tonight, and got the crowd going absolutely
mental. Playing a mix of old and new songs, with all the [spunge] classics,
including Roots, Kicking Pigeons, No Woman No Cry, and their most commercial
single Jump On Demand. These boys obviously know how to please a crowd, and
although I don't really know any of [spunge]'s music, I was enjoying it as much
as the next person. They made sure the crowd got their moneys worth, playing one
of the longest sets I've seen, and with a killer pit, by the end of it the band,
the crowd, and the bouncers were obviously all knackered. A great show from 3 of
the UK's best ska bands!
