Touring with the likes of
Vanilla Pod and Not Katies, and having
recently played at 'Deconstruction', this 4 - piece brilliant
mix of melodic emo punk rock are going get even bigger than
they already are. Likened to the Alkaline Trio, and self
described (in Big
Cheese? magazine) as 'Descendents getting run over by the
Foo Fighters driving the Weezer bus' these guys are damn good.
Biog:
Formed
when old friends Chris and Lee (vocals/ guitar) bumped into
each other again at the end of 1999. A few months later,
having played in bands with
each other previously, they ended
up in a tiny north London bedsit writing songs together. After
getting both of their younger brothers in as a rhythm section,
and setting up in a rehearsal studio, the first line up of
Fletcher was born. The rhythm section soon disbanded to Uni,
so Chris and Lee got Lees' housemate Olly on bass and Andy,
Chris' other brother on drums. The next few months were spent
writing and rehearsing a set of original material. February
2001 saw Fletcher make the transition from a band giving it
their all in a rehearsal room to a band giving it their all on
stage. Thanks to www.fletcherpunkrock.com
for parts of this biog!
Fletchers brilliant Ep 'Six Track Sound' received rave
reviews, which was followed up with their amazing debut album
'My Revenge'. Within the first month of it's release, it had
been on constant repeat on my CD player, had been hailed as
'quite possibly the best record I have heard all year' by Paul
@ Punktastic.com, but the best success of has to be reaching
number 23 in the Tower Records Charts.
As my favourite band, I highly recommend both of these
fantastic CDs and that you go see them this autumn on the
'Dirty Weekends Tour Part 2'.
