Five Knuckle
formed in 98' in Bristol with just Dan (vocals) and Shaun (drums)
along with ex member Toby. They recorded two singles which
became single of the week in both KERRANG! and MELODY MAKER when
they were just 14! Bassist Jojo, and
guitarists Edd joined shortly after.
Kickly building up a large local following, Five Knuckle playing
regular gigs, a live
show at the Bristol Community Festival led to an appearance on BBC1
Kids TV series "Ghost Hunter".
Their second demo ALL AGES got them much attention from zines,
venues and record labels, gaining them the support slots with US
bands such as ska-band MUSTARD PLUG, earning them their contract
with House Holdname Records. Kive Knucle have been constantly
touring, including the support for Aussie rockers 28 DAYS, and LINK
80.
Five Knuckle
played to a packed Mean Fiddler as part of the Big Cheese 'Smash It
Up Tour', only to return to the venue later that year with
GOOD RIDDANCE which was Sauls first gig with the band, and also
played at the annual Household Name Xmas Party. A split E.P,
"look what you're done", with Bostonian ska-punkers Big D
and the Kids Table was put out later that year to coincide with
their tour together.
2002
saw the release of Five Knuckle's debut album "Lost for
Words, Far from Speechless", their second release on
HouseHoldName Records. They have also recorded a session for
Radio1's "the LOCKUP" and have since played gigs with such
with bands as SNUFF, MAD CADDIES, CONSUMED, AGNOSTIC FRONT, US
BOMBS, KING PRAWN, LUNACHICKS, TRIBUTE-TO-NOTHING, PEZZ, LEFTOVER
CRACK, and UK SUBS.
